SharePoint consulting that starts with structure

SharePoint works when it reflects how your organization actually works. Forte Design helps teams migrate to SharePoint Online, design sites and hubs that make sense, and automate the manual work that slows people down.

Why SharePoint projects go wrong

Most struggling SharePoint environments share one problem: nobody agreed on the rules before building. Sites multiply, permissions get tangled, and people go back to emailing attachments. We start by doing the work that prevents this:

  • Clarifying business rules

  • Resolving conflicting interpretations between teams

  • Defining who owns what

  • Agreeing on terminology

  • Documenting project workflows

That alignment is often worth more than the solution itself, and it’s what keeps your SharePoint organized after we leave.

How we work

Listen and challenge. We ask the hard questions about how work really flows today.

Define the structure. Business rules, ownership, terminology, and workflow are agreed and documented.

Tracking and reporting. We track what’s live and in-progress with tasks, issues, estimates and expected delivery dates, so our clients can prioritize and manage budget and expectations with no surprises.

Hand off clearly. Your team knows how the environment is organized and how to maintain it.

Case study: from email threads to one system

An internal hiring and placement solution for a global enterprise

The problem. HR, operations, hiring managers and chiefs of staff were coordinating internal candidates and open roles through email threads and out-of-date spreadsheets. Information was inconsistent, there was no single source of truth, and mistakes were costly.

What we built. One structured system covering the whole path from role posting and approval through candidate application, HR and operations vetting, manager review and offer. It includes:

  • SharePoint lists as the structured data backbone

  • Customize Power App Forms for submissions and updates

  • Power Automate flows for approvals, notifications and permissions setting

  • Power BI dashboards for metrics and for duration tracking across hiring and vetting phases

Why it held up.

  • Mapped before built. Every column is tied to a data dictionary that defines its business rules, data type and triggers.

  • Right information, right person, right time. Each team sees only its slice, when it should. Permissions also protect employee privacy.

  • Built for failure. We assume anything can and will fail, so we added failure capture and clean-up flows, and planned for re-orgs and retracted postings.

  • Clean data that does double duty. The same lists that run daily operations feed executive reporting.

Result:

Seven automated flows, six SharePoint lists, five custom Power Apps and eight security groups replaced coordination chaos with a defined and repeatable, and scalable business process.
